Grain Surfboards: Locally Grown and Hand-Built in Maine
June 1-30th, 2012
Opening Reception: First Friday, June 1st, 6-8PM
Based in York Beach, Maine, GRAIN is a surfboard manufacturer known for innovative techniques, classic designs and ground-breaking products. The Grain tradition includes reducing the impact of surfboard production by using locally harvested, sustainable-yield wood products, creatively reducing or reusing any waste left over, and developing techniques for employing greener materials.
During the month of June, the Art in the Age gallery will be transformed into a Grain workshop; showcasing the beauty of natural, handcrafted, sustainable wood surfboards. Throughout the exhibition month, GRAIN will demonstrate the stages of board construction, as they assemble a custom “Waka” board specifically for Art in the Age.

Hammarhead Industries kicked off their three part Triumph build last night at the Dunderdon NYC shop.
We couldn’t have been happier to serve up some ROOT and SNAP cocktails while James and the Hammarhead crew worked on their new build.
A great crowd showed up to grab a drink and watch the bike come to life, and the Dunderdon store was the perfect setting. We can’t wait for the next two events!
