Hooked on skating and photography, and armed with the independence of having made his own 'zine for years, Adam Wallacavage was well primed by the time he entered the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. At school he dabbled in silk-screening, sculpture, and photography, and it was at this time that he began shooting photos for Thrasher, Skateboard Magazine and later Transworld Skateboard Magazine, Strength, Slap, and Skateboarder. Ranging from the sublime to the surreal to the silly, his colorful photos quickly began to draw attention outside of the world of skaters. R.I., founded Space 1026. In the time since he has shot hundreds of artists, including Barry McGee and Rebecca Westcott, and hundreds of underground bands as well as furthered his other obsessions: his sculptures, octopus chandeliers, not to mention his interior design work or silk screens....
