A Philadelphia Alphabet Print Exchange

Another excellent printmaking exchange has come to an end in The City of Brotherly Love. After the Valentine's Day exchange, dedicated participants embarked on a new collective adventure of the typographic sort. Each printmaker was assigned a letter to be expressed in a series of twenty-six 4" x 6" prints.

Coordinated, collated, and hand-delivered via local printress, Leah Mackin, the edition looks amazing and represents a wide range of local printmaking interests.

Contributions included silkscreens, digital photo prints, letterpress prints, hand cut/stitched creations, and meticulous collaging.

My personal contributions were the "N" and the "R" (last minute addition to wrap things up). They were printed on a Vandercook Universal letterpress with both wood and metal type at The University of Pennsylvania's Common Press.

Perhaps there will be a new themed exchange on the horizon? I hope so, and want to be first in line to join the honest labor!
