ART + SOUL FOOD = GOOD TIMES IN PHILADELPHIA

I once dropped a course in college, titled, “Food Art” and it was probably the biggest mistake of my life.  Turns out it was a weekly party and everyone got credit for eating.  Fortunately, I live in Philadelphia and it manages to satiate both my food and art cravings.  If you are in the area or just passing by, consider ART + SOUL FOOD on June 13.  From 6-9pm, you can walk the western blocks of Girard Ave (between 26th and 30th) while admiring the newly renovated store fronts exhibiting local artisans meanwhile eating the tastiest drum stick, ever.  Expect live musical performances and tasty sampling from Butter’s Soul Food and Deborah’s Kitchen.  Need I say more?

Below are a few selects of the must-see participating artists:

Beth Beverly

Mounted rabbit with duck feet and and pigeon wings. Features pearl embellishment on forehead and cat whiskers.

Natalie Hope McDonald

Megawords

Rabid Fox (AKA, Linda Smyth)
