Bryce Dessner of The National Does “The Lincoln Shuffle”
Bryce Dessner of The National will present an evening of original Lincoln-inspired compositions at the Rosenbach Museum & Library on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:30 pm.
“The Lincoln Shuffle” is Dessner’s collection of pieces on acoustic instruments, recorded in short segments, to encourage other to remix/redo/re-interpret. Inspirations include: Lincoln’s Inaugural Address, colloquial slave songs, and the original recording of “Dixie.” Dessner will host a discussion AND performance on April 2nd.
