Celebrating Mark Twain and his Philadelphia roots!
This Wednesday marks the 100th anniversary of Mark Twain‘s death. Otherwise known as Samuel Langhorne Clemens, he is remembered as a profound author and humorist leaving behind the legacy of, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, one of our nation’s most beloved novels. His early years as a printer’s apprentice lead him to become a typesetter and contributor, having worked at the Hannibal Journal and then eventually at the Philadelphia Inquirer when it was located on Third Street just north of Chestnut.
