DEATH’S SCYTHE: A Tribute to Farm Tools, Old and New
Another change that I am slowly easing into, is that over the course of the day, excluding any meetings with maintenance/repair people, I don’t say very much out loud. My previously free-flowing verbal exchange has been truncated to the following clauses:
- “Be careful!”
- “Oh my god!”
As of late, these auditory ejaculations are primarily in response to the number of farm tools found in/on/around the barns and kiddies running up/down/around old stairs and boulders. Last week, upon organization of the gardener’s shed, I exclaimed, “I don’t know what all of these are! It all looks like DEATH’S SCYTHE to me!”
So without further ado, a photo tribute to all of the great unknown sharp things that could potentially kill me…
(Or harvest hay. WHATEVER.)
A Hay-Rake/”Tedder” (aka – Mutant Red Insect)
A Hay Baler (aka – Barbed Wire On Steroids)
An Ancient Baler (aka – The Original Death’s Scythe)
Nature and Technology in co-existence
NEW FARM TOOLS in my work drawer. Criteria for Selection: Must Match My Outfit
My New Toy. Shoe shopping has now been superceded by multi-hour trips to Lowe’s!
