Egg Bombs: The Hens Are Serious Business

The hens are getting serious about egg-laying. We are moving at a rate of 5-6 big brown eggs each day, and until more human company arrives, friends and neighbors are receiving surprise egg bombs in their mailboxes and car trunks. I consider my chickens to be quite the courageous crew in the face of constant coyote threat.

Until I can make up my mind about solar-charged electric fencing, the hens hang out in their coop and fenced run, with supervised free-range/romping in the afternoons. (Ever-growing reverence for mothers & motherhood, obvously.)

One morning, I thought that perhaps making peace with the coyotes (à la Beuys) would be effective in securing my livestock luck for the future…

But maybe, I just need to PIMP MY COOP like the menagerie below (Thanks for the link, Percy Bright!)

For now, I will gleefully and gratefully gather my 6 daily eggs and accept this as payment for diligent chicken-sitting!

CONFUSED HUMAN: TOO ORNERY TO BE EATEN
