FeelGood Open Call: Meet the Winners!

Several months ago we collaborated with FeelGood, a student-powered business organization working to end world hunger. We had an open call for visual responses to FeelGood related themes (including ending world hunger and “one grilled cheese at a time”), and the response was overwhelming!

Now we’re pleased to show you the final product: one tote and one tee.

Check out the pictures below and meet our two winners!

Kristin Leigh Koefoed is in her senior year at University of the Arts, working towards a BFA in Illustration. She likes to work primarily in ink and color digitally, and tends to incorporate humor into her work. Here’s what she had to say:

“The response you get from something that makes people laugh is so much more gratifying than what you’ll get from something that just looks cool…. The design I submitted was one of eight billion ideas I came up with. A lot of them had good points, but there needed to be a very specific voice, and finding the best way to convey that voice was the trick. In the design process, I worked with Art in the Age to come up with an image that would best represent the Feel Good mission and thus, the grilled cheese t-shirt was born.”

Jon-Weed Michael Weed graduated from Philadelphia University with a degree in graphic design. Packaging makes him sweat; his power animal is the wolf; and his favorite album is Paul Simon’s “Graceland.” He loves to cook, clean, design, write, and play music, and he draws inspiration from late night snacking. Jon Weed thinks big birds with silly faces make him feel good, so why not draw one!
