GUEST BLOG II: The Adventures of Andy Bowness (Hide Your Arms!)
That message is scrawled on a dirty message board on the side of a parking lot just off Locust & Juniper St. I first saw it on February 13th, which quite naturally made me think that it was a lot more of a romantic gesture than it’s surroundings would suggest (the board actually faces a ‘private gentleman’s club’), but who knows how long it had been there.
I love finding random things like this when I’m walking around Philadelphia. If you said you could tell me the story behind that message I wouldn’t want to know, because not knowing is what makes it so good, it’s whatever I want it to be, there’s already a story in my head and the reality would almost certainly never live up to it.
Generally, I wouldn’t recommend reveling in ignorance, but in some cases, such love notes outside strip clubs, you’re probably better off just making up the facts yourself.
