HIDDENCITY PHILADELPHIA FESTIVAL! May 30 – June 28

After living in/on/around/near Philadelphia for over 10 years, I thought I’d seen just about everything.

WRONG.

Starting May 30, the HIDDENCITY Philadelphia Festival will shed light on our city’s best unknown historical and architectural landmarks. Visual and performing artists will be presenting and exhibiting site specific pieces (dance, music, sculpture, video, print, mixed media) until June 28.

Sites Include:

Disston Saw Works (N. Philly)

Founder’s Hall (Girard College)

German Society of PA (Society Hill)

Metropolitan Opera House (North Broad St.)

Mother Bethel AME Church (Society Hill)

Philly Inquirer Building (North Broad St.)

Royal Theater (South St.)

Shiloh Baptist Church (South Philly)

The Armory of the First Troop of Philadelphia Cavalry (South Philly)

———————————————

These oft-overlooked buildings are really treasures, both visually and historically speaking. This month-long festival will be an educational and cultural eye-opener!
