“Livestock” Update: Ah, The Circle of Life!
Chai caught her first mouse last week. This event was the source of great pride, as well as confusion (on both Chai and my own parts).
At 10-weeks old, Chai was not so much larger than the ill-fated rodent. She batted it around my office. Ti joined in the fun. She eventually settled down with it under my desk and looked up, bewildered.
I looked down at her, equally as befuddled. The cat I had while growing up was an avid huntress who neatly consumed her prey, leaving our family with a small pile of bones and entrails. What to do? What to do?
I composted it.
Tomorrow would be a brand new day for mice and men.
