MP3: Nurses – “Technicolor”
Last night I caught Nurses at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly and was definitely blown away. It wasn’t that they have the most original sound around, (Grizzly Bear x Animal Collective is the most common comparison) but they sounded amazing. Their new album, Apple’s Acre, is a breath of fresh, North-western air and the perfect soundtrack to begin the Fall season. It was exquisite how those layered, quirky pop songs gained a new dimension of depth and made the band sound as though they were playing in a stadium rather than a small club. I suspect you will be hearing a lot more from this Portland-based trio in the future. For now, you can download a track from the album below.
