New Documentary In The Works: Michael Pollan’s “The Botany of Desire”
Thanks to this awesome event, I am now the bearer of great news! Two nights ago, in a small theater in San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood, Michael Pollan, bestselling author and Professor of Journalism at UC Berkeley, introduced a sneak preview of his latest project…
A 2-hour documentary based on his bestselling book The Botany of Desire: A Plant’s Eye View of The World, in which Pollan traces man’s relationship with four plants: Tulips, Cannabis, Potatoes, and Apples. Pollan gets super-intimate with these plants and explains the long-standing symbiosis between the two worlds and how, essentially, the actions of humans have directly led to the survival and proliferation of these species.
The preview, I must say, was thoughtfully edited and artfully shot. I did not expect any less.
