Many thanks to a co-worker for this hawt art/music tip!
This past weekend in Lower Manhattan, Creative Time premiered "Playing the Building," a nine-thousand square foot site-specific sculptural work by David Byrne of Talking Heads fame. "Playing the Building" subsumes the Battery Maritime Building with an organ that derives its sounds from various interactions between cables, objects, and the architecture and plumbing of the space itself.

Here is a quick YouTube clip of the organ:
For a higher quality visual of the installation of the piece, see Creative Time's official video, or go there in person! I am definitely planning to attend, and promise to follow up.
The exhibition is free and open to the public Friday-Sunday from noon-6 pm until August 10, 2008.
