Raspberry Reveries, Chapter 1: And So It Begins…

2 humans + 8 hours + 2 wheelbarrows + 1000 prickly dead canes + 1 deer tick incident = THE BEGINNING OF RASPBERRY SEASON 2010!!!

In 3 months time, our freshly pruned, weeded, and mulched grove of heritage raspberry bushes will be bearing waves of juicy berries. Until then, we wait and watch and remember to wear long sleeves next time we work in the patch…

BEFORE: New growth, overgrowth, and last year’s dead stalks…

DURING…

AFTER: Happily breathing bushes and no dawn for weed types…
