ROOT Cocktail of the Week: Tsunami
While this perfect summertime cocktail may not cause destruction in mere seconds, it will definitely have you feeling its effects. There are many variations of the ‘tsunami’ cocktail but the one that Indhira Torres of Silk City created for us is certainly delicious. She still uses the dark rums that can be found in most Tsunami’s, the ROOT adds in the spice, and lemonade kicks the pineapple juice aside. Add a bit of fizz with the ginger beer and VIOLA! the absolutely perfect, refreshing drink to sip on a sultry Philly afternoon.
How to:
2 oz. Myers dark rum
1 oz. ROOT
fresh lemonade
ginger beer
Combine ROOT and rum in a pint glass. Fill remainder of pint glass with fresh lemonade and top off with ginger beer.
This drink will be featured tonight at Silk City for the ROOT Cocktail Competition as some of the top bartenders in Philadelphia go head to head to make the BEST ROOT cocktail!
