ROOT & Maine ROOT: A Mix n’ Match Made in Heaven (aka New England)

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I’ve always secretly retained this idea that Prince Charming actually existed. And furthermore, that Prince Perfectly-Chiseled-Cheekbones-Who-Is-Also-An-Able-Carpenter, my island in an ocean of worldly chaos, would one day come riding out of an enchanted forest on a magic pegacorn (half unicorn, half Pegasus).

Instead, I’ve always been the matchmaker. Sigh. This time, it’s for my friend, ROOT. I found her a match. I caught her a catch.

His name is Maine ROOT. He is a line of delicious organic soft drinks brewed in Portland, Maine (a regional long distance relationship), without high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, or genetically modified ingredients.

Maine ROOT is available in select grocery stores and friendly dining establishments in all 50 states, including Whole Foods , Hannaford, and Flatbread Pizza Co. See a full listing here…

It’s a match made in heaven. I got in touch with Matt and Mark Seiler, Maine ROOT’s fathers, and arranged a blind date with ROOT. While Matt and Mark travel the beautiful US of A in their bio-diesel-powered van spreading the good news about Free Range Root Beer, I’ve been watching the sparks fly between Maine ROOT Root Beer, Maine ROOT Ginger Brew, and Art In The Age ROOT. Check out pics from the most recent, devilish beverage ménage à trois…

Looks fabulous! We will be serving these at the SzaboFest this weekend on Monhegan Island, in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Wish us luck.

So far, these girls are doing the right thing by meeting these guys at the restaurant blind date uncensored and not being picked up. They don’t know them very well and if for some reason, one (or both) need to duck out, neither will be stuck without wheels.

Every time I get Down East the purchase of Maine Root is on the list. At the head of the list is a perfect pint at Brian Boru. But that is another space-time continuum. Root Tea should be enjoyed with a big plate of Uncle Billy's Barbeque. Served in a tall frosty glass. 3 shots of Root (I'm an optimist) top with Maine Root beer. garnish with a slice of Quince or a slice of a roasted lady apple. Cheers! Warren Bobrow

Perfect for pizza galore? Hmmm, just be careful not to adhere to bottomless drinking unless otherwise, bottomless pizza is at the helm.
