Last night, I attended the preview for the upcoming HeartWorks art exhibition and auction. The show, opening April 18 at Philly's ICEBOX Project Space, will feature over 40 artists from Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, and London. The works have all been donated to support curator Christopher Veit's fundraiding efforts for The Mazzoni Center, a healthcare facility committed to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health and Well-Being regardless of the patient's personal finances.
Noteworthy participating artists include Art in the Age Artists Alex Da Corte and Issac Lin, fellow Philadelphians Zoe Strauss and Virgil Marti, and ...Devendra Banhart? Absolutely. (Check out the official website if you don't believe me.)
"Run Run Run", a recent Da Corte print, was on display at the preview...

The opening weekend (April 18 & 19) will feature experimental film and music performance at both the ICEBOX and Johnny Brenda's. The auction will be held during the closing reception on the evening of April 26.
