SEEN ON THE STREET: Sarah Palin Woodcut Tee
The Indefatigable Sarah Palin: Hockey Mom or Puckfucker?
Printmaker Mali Skotheim voices her opinion loud and clear with the creation of this bold shirt design. Printed from a hand-cut woodblock (REAL good old fashioned labor…take THAT, Sarah Palin!), the design features a portrait with an ornamental be-demoned border piece.
The shirts were for sale last weekend at The Common Press for POST (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours). See the Flickr! album for more photos of the shirts and the artist.
Mali Skotheim dons her design.
It was also at the POST event that Mali informed me of a Sarah Palin Protest outside The Bellevue this past weekend. Both sides of Broad Street and the median were full of Obama/Biden supporters wielding picket signs, sheets, and even an arsenal of creepy Palin masks!
Check out more photos from the protest.
…Mali’s shirt made it through the scuffle. Audaciously sported by friend, Artie Vierkant!

And last but not least…a favorite incognito activist from the charged afternoon…

Thanks, Mali (and fellow Philadelphians) for proving that real political activism and honest labor are not dead!
