The Busiest Day in May: Start A Project, Salute The Armed Forces, Observe Moths
There is no such thing as a lazy Saturday during this busy month of Springtime haps! Check out what’s on the plate for today, May 15:
- Best Day To Start A Project (…says the Farmer’s Almanac)
According to the age-old periodical of wisdom, recommended activities include: Cutting firewood, mowing to increase grow, digging holes, and hosting a party. (I vote for the latter).
- National Armed Forces Day (United States)
This day of acknowledgement was created in 1949 to celebrate all 5 branches of the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard) and those who serve. Read more about the history of National Armed Forces Day on DefenseLINK.
- National Moth Night (UK)
Observed primarily in Great Britain, National Moth Night is a series of public events aimed at recording images and behaviors of moths in order to “raise the profile of these widely misunderstood nocturnal creatures. Public events take place around the country, which can be a great way of inspiring the public and stimulating people to take up a fascinating new interest.” (according to nationalmothnight.info)
See how you can get involved and submit your own moth photos HERE!
