Tim Eads: A Legitimate Waste of Time
This Saturday is the opening reception for Tim Eads’ first solo show, A Legitimate Waste of Time. This is Eads’ premier of his pedal operated butter churn, that feeds electricity to a toaster. Churning butter and toasting bread all in one process, amazing.
Drinks will served at the reception using sweet buttermilk – the by-product of butter. Root will be there too, which goes oh so well with the buttermilk. Make sure you don’t miss a chance to view Tim’s pedal-operated butter churn as well as other new works.

FLUXspace is pleased to announce A Legitimate Waste of Time; a site-specific sculpture installation by Tim Eads. This is Eads’ first solo exhibition which includes the premier of a pedal-operated butter churn that generates electricity to power a toaster. Viewers are invited to operate the machine and then to enjoy freshly churned butter and warm toast produced by their efforts. Drinks at the opening will be made from sweet buttermilk, the by-product of making butter. Other works in the show encourage viewers to question their physical space and their way within it. Eads’ hopes to create alternative paths for interacting with architectural spaces often ignored or taken for granted.
Eads grew up in a small town in West Texas and recently graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He currently lives and works in Philadelphia. He is an artist in residence at FLUXspace and has received funding from several sources including Kickstarter.com and The Weston A. Price Foundation.
