VIDEO: AITA Store Tour with Jason Thompson, Architect
How exactly do dreams become reality? How are sketches transformed into structures? Rissay Ltd Architecture & Construction, the masterminds behind the physical build-out of the Art In The Age Flagship Store, merit an ART IN THE AGE MEDAL OF HONOR (I am officially instating this title as of…right now). Beginning in August 2008 with concept sketches, moodboards, and one crazy historical Philadelphia building…Jason Thompson (Principal Designer & Founder) and partner Scott McLeer worked with us to create the Art In The Age Flagship Store. The project was completed in three months by a three-man team working round the clock. In it’s short lifetime thus far, the store has been christened by many a footstep, tasty cocktail, and hours of artistic labor.
We had the opportunity to chat with Jason Thompson and film a tour of our retail and gallery space through the architect’s eyes. Jason tells the stories behind many of the unique salvaged pieces at 116 North 3rd and discusses the challenges and choices he faced while working…

Thank you to Jason Thompson for taking the time to create this video with us and for his contributions of of both brain and brawn to the Art In The Age family!
