Enjoy ROOT Cocktails at "Balls Out" by The Ugly Art Room
We’re excited to announce our first Art in the Age collaboration with the Ugly Art Room, a roving curatorial art project based in Brooklyn, New York. The Ugly Art Room seeks unusual and unique spaces to curate art exhibits in order to challenge the “white box” gallery tradition and present work in consideration of its relationship to its environment physically, conceptually and historically. This adds a challenge to the curatorial process where context is brought to the forefront and a story develops between the artwork and the space. Ultimately, a unique and inspiring viewing experience results.
ROOT will be part of the “Ball’s Out!” food competition fundraiser on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 7-10pm at Veronica People’s Club (105 Franklin St) in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Balls to judge include: Kristi’s Honey Sun Butter Balls, Adam’s Creamed Corn Balls, Secret Balls from Brooklynauts, Rachael’s Too Hot to Handle Buffalo Chicken Balls, Seana’s Taco Balls, Surprise Vegan Balls from Electric Blue Baking Co., Sweet and Sour ROOT Balls, plus more..
Your $15 entrance fee includes a complimentary cocktail, and will enter you in a raffle for great prizes donated by: Brouwerij Lane, The Parlour Brooklyn, Paulie Gee’s, Wooster Street Meats, Scott’s Pizza Tours, Bacon Marmalade, Dandelion Wine, badges to the Northside Festival, plus more.
