Now In Stock: BITTERS!
Art in the Age boasts an extensive collection of more than 100 different kinds of cocktail bitters. What are bitters, exactly, beyond an intense concentration of flavor? Once prized by doctors and apothecaries alike for their supposed healing properties, bitters are now most celebrated for their use in cocktails.
To create them, manufacturers infuse herbs, botanicals, and fruit essences into a solution. With enough skill, they can make bitters from just about any flavor in the pantry, from rose, to clove, to cinchona bark, or even Sichuan pepper.
Think of bitters as a spice rack for your bar cart — add a few drops to still or sparkling water for a simple tonic, or experiment with use in your favorite drinks to add depth and flavor. A few interesting bitters will lend another layer of enjoyment to your home bar, and give the inspired mixologist an advantage in their pursuit of a seamless recipe.
