Sun Airway
Born of the ashes of Philly band The A-Sides, Sun Airway present listeners with an impressive debut in Oh, Naoko. The self-produced, self-recorded EP weaves dreamlike soundscapes under wistful vocals and driven beats.
Oh, Naoko is a collection of four tracks that garners influences from love stories, old foreign vinyl, and experimenting with new sounds and new equipment without any pressure to land a label. The lyrics are wrought with imagery, with the songs “Oh, Naoko” and “Waiting On You” created around Haruki Murakami’s novel Norwegian Wood: “I guess we wandered too close to the water/ the current’s been sweeping us in”. “Swallowed by the Night,” with its lush vocals, and “Your Moon,” with its awesome beat, develop the ethereal themes so illustrated in their album artwork.
