NOVEMBER EXHIBITION: NORMAN PORTER COMPANY
A LOOK INTO THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING SELVAGE DENIM JEANS AND LEATHER WORK BY MICHAEL STAMPLER, DAVID STAMPLER, AND JOHN MAHAFFEY
Named after Michael and David’s grandfather, a mechanical engineer from Perkasie, Norman Porter Company is a denim, canvas, and leather goods company operating out of Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA.
Norman Porter produces small batch goods, crafted by hand in house. All Norman Porter jeans are made with the finest quality denims, and each rivet is hand hammered. Their leather products are also hand tooled and one of a kind. They embrace the strange and wacky, offering general staples, while making each piece just a little bit different.
Join us for an exhibition featuring the process of denim and leather crafting, as well as the launch of a limited edition denim series for Art in the Age. Each pair of Art in the Age jeans will be finished by hand in store during the opening!
Exhibition: November 2nd-30th , 2012
Opening Reception: First Friday, November 2nd, 6-8PM
Complimentary refreshments by Art in the Age, Spodee Wine, and South County Brewing Co.
