From October 1 – 17, Art in the Age is competing in the Old City Window Design Contest as part of this month’s citywide DesignPhiladelphia event.

Our window features a combination of work from our October exhibitors Walter and Margaux Kent of Peg and Awl, and sculptor Darla Jackson.  For the exhibition, entitled “There is a Great Deal I Do Not Want to Know,” the Kents and Darla transformed the AITA gallery into a backwoods apothecary, complete with original Peg and Awl furniture, photography by Margaux, and paintings by Walter.  A number of Darla’s eerily realistic wild animal sculptures infiltrate the space in the most unexpected places.

The DesignPhiladelpha window attempts to create an exterior space leading into the apothecary, and incorporates a reclaimed wood swing by Peg and Awl, a raccoon sculpture by Darla Jackson, and a handmade journal and masks from Margaux’s personal collection.

VOTE FOR THE WINDOW HERE, and be sure to stop by the store to check it out the exhibition!
