Philebrity is surfin’ AITA

Posted by:Intern on June 21st, 2012

With heat like this, can’t you just imagine yourself riding some waves with the salt water and sea breeze in your hair? Well, if you want to get to that feeling, why not learn a little bit about building a GRAIN wooden surfboard at Art in The Age’s June Workshop. Surfer, carpenter, and board builder Ben McBrien will continue building the GRAIN Waka board that has been on display at AITA throughout the month, and will “demonstrate the specific process and techniques that make GRAIN wooden surfboards so special.” So why not learn how to build your own board? You could always just hang it on your wall and tell people you surfed. It’s easier that way.

And in shows: Sharon Van Etten (above, from JB’s in February) and Meg Baird play Union Transfer; Cuddle Magic, Midtown Dickens, and Son Step at Johnny Brenda’s; and Nadja, James Plotkin And Jon Mueller, and Hot Guts at Kungfu Necktie.
