New holiday collaboration: Root plus John & Kira’s chocolates
What better accessory to have on hand for a Holiday party than chocolate? Local chocolatiers, John & Kira, strive to use local ingredients from area farms and support their community while creating wonderful blends of unique flavors of the sweetest confections. In their search to use new and creative ingredients, John & Kira’s has joined forces with Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction (116 N. 3rd St.) and its famed Root liquor to create limited-edition, holiday ROOT chocolates.
ROOT has been recognized by Fine Cooking, Vanity Fair, and Men’s Journal as a one-of-a-kind spirit. This uniqueness is due to the strictly North American ingredient list that includes nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugarcane. John & Kira’s noticed the deliciousness of such ingredients, and realized them to be a perfect pairing for the cocoa and vanilla beans used in their chocolates.
The hand-made, exquisite chocolates are available in a box of six for $18 exclusively at the Art in the Age flagship store, located in Old City. The chocolates come in the cutest little wooden box, which could double as a jewelry box once the chocolates are long gone.
