ROOT FOR GOOD LUCK
19th century Pennsylvania coal miners were a hard working, no frills bunch, who risked their lives every day to fuel American industry.
Miners would brew their own batches of root tea liquor, alleged to have medicinal benefits, but also great for calming one’s nerves. Many miners would take the edge off with a good luck shot of root tea before entering the mines, a daily ritual that continued in Pennsylvania mining communities throughout the turn of the century.
We’d like to bring this tradition back with ROOT! Raise a toast to good luck before a night out with friends, or after a fine meal.
To prosperity and good fortune!
