Save the Barnes, Stop the Move
For the past few months, the grassroots movement Save the Barnes, Stop the Move has been hot on the Art in the Age radar. The group has created a fresh new campaign in the battle to keep the Barnes Foundation in it’s original location in Lower Merion, and have already began to build a lot of buzz around the issue.
Walter Benjamin believed that the reproduction of art results in the loss of its aura. This is truly the case in the relocation and attempted reproduction of the new Barnes museum on the Parkway.
