The Creation of Field Notes Notebooks
Art in the Age is proud to carry the Field Notes brand in our store, and we were even more impressed by this video showing the process behind each carefully crafted notebook. The notebooks in this series were printed by Flywheel Letterpress in Freeport, Illinois on an American-made, duplex linen cover stock from Neenah. The outside cover is letterpress-debossed and varnished, and the inside cover is printed on a vintage offset press. Dan Barron of Flywheel Letterpress is obviously passionate about his work, and his knowledge of mechanical printing equipment and letterpress in humbling. Enjoy the video below.
