Winterizing The Farm: "Putting The Gardens To Bed"
This past weekend, I “put the gardens to bed,” as I’ve heard stated by others. 3 days of unexpected warmer temperatures and heavy rains created a bit of a pre-Winter mudbath.
The dead plants, stakes, and agro-fabric came out of the ground. The last of the greens, peppers, and broccoli were harvested. The organic matter will decompose under the snow, enriching the soil for next Spring…
