The Worlds First Sustainable Wooden Smartphone
NTT DoCoMo has just released a new mobile smart phone in Japan dubbed “Touch Wood”, which features a sustainable body made with the surplus wood of trees culled during thinning operations to maintain healthy forests. Check out the amazing viral video below.
The Sharp Touch Wood will be available in limited quantities of just 15,000 on NTT DoCoMo. Made of locally sourced cypress timber each Touch Wood will be unique due to the wood’s unique pattern as well as color. Moreover, no artificial colors or paints have been used to ensure that the cypress retains its original appearance and aroma.
Sadly for us in the U.S., it looks like the phone will only be available in the Japanese market.
